Went to the Zoo and Bowling. Used the 18-200VR Nikon at the Zoo the most. Also used the 50mm a bit there. All shots at the bowling alley were with the 50mm 1.8 Nikon. It is the best lens you can buy for $120. Hands down...

Decided to do some shooting a couple weeks ago. They ones of the tree and railroad tracks are from that period. All others are from various times. The deep orange sunset pictures are from early December. The cat pictures are from early winter or late fall 2006.

New photos have been added to the slideshow at the top page/home page. The photos added will be mostly from my trip to Europe. I recently rescanned all my negatives from the trip in a higher quality form. There is also a photo from a concert of my favorite band Guster. All the ones that were added are from my old APS camera.

New camera. The Sony T-9

So I was ready for a new camera because I have had Nikons for a while now and have been looking for something a little better. While I love the Nikons and what they offer, I really was annoyed by the white balance and quality of pictures in low light. Yes, pictures are not meant to be taken in low light; although some cameras are beter than others.So I had been looking for several months to try to decide what my next camera was going to be. I tried to decide if I wanted something a little bigger that offered a better zoom or just stick with what I had. I figured that if I was giong to get a camera with a better zoom that was bigger, I might as well get a Digital SLR. I know I would not carry a big camera around with me so I settled on a small one like I already had. I knew I wanted no less than 6MP as I already had a 7MP previoulsy. I found that a lot of cameras with features I liked went down to 6MP and I felt that was not a large sacrafice. I had my eye on two cameras in the end. It was the Canon SD 700IS and the Sony T9. Both were 6MP cameras and had Image stabilization. The Sony was $400 and the Canon was $500 retail. They both had the same amount of zoom, but the Canon used a lens that actually comes out of the camera, while the Sony used folded optics. I preferred a lens that comes out of the camera, but after playing with the Sony more I started to like it more, especially being $100 less. I checked picture qualities and played with both cameras in stores. After comparing the two I decided that I liked the Sony more for what it offered at the price it offered. I did not see anything that that Canon offered that was really any better than the Sony for the $100 price price difference. I have been playing with it for about 2 weeks now and I am quite amazed. So here are just a few samples of pictures I have taken. One note...I did not edit the color or contrast or anything except make the pictures smaller for posting. This is why I was very happy with what I saw from the Sony--great pictures without having to edit the color later. See some samples below...

So what is Here or There Dot Org? Simply put..it is a collection of photos of my life and inspiration. Most of the photos are taken by me while some are taken by others with my inspiration. I appear in some of the photos as well. These photos are only a portion of photos that I take. I put here the photos that I like the best or that I am proud of. Any photo that was not done entirely on my own will have credit given to the appropriate person.
You can learn more about a particular photo that is in the slideshow by clicking on it. That will bring up information on the photo and a description by me. You can also change how fast the slideshow runs by rolling your mouse over the top of the slideshow. If you want to view particular pictures you can roll your mouse over the bottom of the slideshow to view a certain picture.
